#4. The stranger selling plantains on the street

The not-so-stranger stranger.

He was only trying to sell plantains. I was only trying to buy them from him. But somewhere along the way, our how-much-does-it-cost chat morphed into a conversation about his kids, their college careers, Jesus, and even a plantain salesgirl job offer was thrown in.

I laughed, but something inside me warmed up. That unexpected conversation is the highlight of my day.

I asked if I could take a picture of him, so I could remember him and write about this. I wish I had asked his name.
